Happy International Women's Day!

Today is International Women's Day - a feast left over from the times of the communist regime in Europe, celebrated mainly in countries of the Soviet bloc and its satellites.

Like in the previous years, the day is marked by marches and protests organized by post-communist groups and radical leftist feminists.

Let’s make a difference. Let’s forget the politics and feminists and let's celebrate this day with flowers, wine and pampering. Let’s celebrate the Goddess in every woman! Happy Woman’s Day!

Would you like to win a fabulous book by Joan Elliot "A Woman's World in Cross Stitch"? Please let me know by Friday (March 13th) how did you pamper yourself today or how someone made your day today very special and a week from today I will announce a winner. If you are a man, please tell me how did you pamper that special woman (wife, girlfriend, sister, mother, friend etc,) today and your name also will be entered for a draw.

  1. talk about being pampered. Since I had to put my husband into a nursing home in Jan. My daughter and son in law insisted that I move in with them. My sil gave up his den so that I could have a downstairs bedroom. They did all the moving I only had to tell them what I wanted in my bedroom, what to put in storage and what to get rid of. I am not allowed to do anything I don't want to do. Don;t have to cook or anything else. Makes you realize how families should pull together when things go so wrong. I would love to have the book. 2. I pamper myself. Since I did most of the housework yesterday I plan on spending today relaxing, stitching, sitting on my deck with my coffee, book and watching the birds. That's what I call a perfect day!
I would love to be included in your drawing. Thanks.

  3. Today I am going to the nail salon to get my nails done (after almost 2 months without doing it-- actually I think it has been two months, and considering that my nails are acrylic, they look awful right now, but I have been too busy working to do anything about it!). I am also going to try to get a pedicure, although we are going to have to see how time holds up for that-- if it takes them too long to do my fingers there will be no doing my toes today!

I would love to be included in your drawing!

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

  7. I am just sitting at the computer enjoying the time to myself. I have a coffee with my favorite flavored cream in it. It is a treat because I don't drink my coffee with the flavored cream all the time. Later I will work on my DD scrapebook since she graduates this year and I want it for her as a pressent. Then I plan to cross stitch and watch a movie. No housework for me today. Hugs Nancy Cricket Tucket

  10. I didn't even know there was an Internation Women's Day! I did have a wonderful bubble bath this morning and now my husband is helping me shorten 3 new pairs of jeans. I have one of the good guys so I'm always grateful and, yes, I always feel pampered. We've been married for 38 1/2 years and what would make me happy every day is to have him for another 38 1/2 years!

  15. After a six month separation, Max and I are still in the "honeymoon" stage again for the umpteenth time!! I truly have lost count.

But, this day I got two dozen daises that had been dyed green with the yellow centers, an entire apple pie for a very equsite tea room and 6 Blarney Stones. I think he wants me to regain the weight I have lost!!

He has been on his very best spoiling mode!! The best was about a week ago, he went unsent, alone to the local needle shop and bought me 1/4 yard of the most divine 28-Count white opalescent Cashel linen that I have ever had!!
That was above and beyond the call of duty!!

I would love to be entered in your contest!!

Tell us what your hubby did Evalina!!

    Love and Hugs!!
