First finish in 2013!

Vickie from A Stitcher's Story has a traveling pattern thing going on her blog. Fortunately for me I have this chart and since it looked like a cute little one night piece, I decided to stitch it. Here it is:
It looks a little  a lot different that the original:


as I used my own choice of colours. I stitched mine of 32ct lugana 'DaVinci', lovely lavender/light blue with silk floss from Carries Creations (Sublime and Peacock) and some DMC. I'm donating my chart to 'Traveling Pattern' event on Vickie's blog. So this is my first finish this year and this weekend I will transfer this little piece into an ornament.

And I have been one lucky woman! I won a beautiful chart in our monthly draw hosted by Nicola of Nicola's Scarlet Letter Year. It is a reproduction sampler called Jane Atkinson circa 1780

I love this piece! I'm planning to start this project in February, just for Nicola's birthday.

    I just love the colors and pretty flowers in this sampler as well as Adam and Eve. I love it so much that I ordered it from Scarlet Letter for this sal yesterday and I will be stitching on this one as well as Elizabeth Sheffield. Elizabeth is in the work in progress right now but I wanted to do both of them. congratulations on winning this lovely sampler. I will love seeing your progress too!

    I love your take on the travelling pattern. Thread choice can give you a completely different look.

    Hi there fellow Canadian! So nice to hop over from GYB and get to know you. I love your name EVALINA, so lovely. Hope you make people call you by your whole name, it's too lovely to shorten. :) I used to love to cross stitch and should take out some of my old starts and finish one of them. I remember doing one scene on a very fine linen...that just about killed me! See you soon.

    I've stitched that TP last year, it's so much fun to see all the different colours schemes from one little pattern.
