Help!

January is done and it looks lovely.
Now I'm working on June and next one will be July. And here I'm in trouble. July ornie looks like this:
There is nothing wrong with this look but I would like to be more 'me'. I am Canadian, my birthday is in July and US Independence Day doesn't mean a lot to me (well, my birthday is way much more important) . Can someone help me design my very own ornament for July that fits in Prairie Schooler frame? The stitch count is 52 on the top and bottom line. Left and right line have 8 x 3 + 7 + 8 x 3 = 55.

So long my friends,
Evalina

  1. Your January finish is gorgeous Evalina. Can you sorta do your country bird along the same lines as the eagle with your flag in the middle. How about a giant birthday cake with your flag in the middle.

  2. A birthday cake sounds like a great idea. Since Canada Day is in July too, could you add a maple leaf on the side of the cake? Or, have a cake with candles in the middle and a maple leaf vertical border?

  3. I know exactly how you feel! It is so annoying that every single July ornament revolves around Independence Day. It's also my birthday month and I don't live in America at all, it literally means nothing to me (Being from New Zealand and all).

  4. Can you change it to a maple leaf - that should fit the size and add your initials and birth date :-)

  6. The January finish is lovely - gives you a little reminder of where you've moved from. Hope you can figure out something for July - I totally get your point.

  7. That's a really great finish. PS are the best.
July is always the problem month when I stitch monthlies from US designers. I think I would go with Clare's or Linda's idea, it shouldn't be too difficult ... (says someone who has zero talent for drawing or designing, lol).
