Earth hour

Earth hour is not about people, is about world without people.  It is an hour when we are told to sit in the cold and dark, and reject what freedom and ingenuity gave us – to reject civilization, to reject our very nature. It is an hour to live as they do in miserable North Korea. It is an hour to live without civilization. To live no different than animals.

I like warmth and light. I like my coffee maker, fridge and stove. I like my TV and stereo. I love my computer. I LIKE CIVILIZATION! Life before industrialization was nasty, brutish, short, diseased, hungry and cold.  It’s better now. We are healthier and we are living longer than ever before. Let's keep that way!

During the Earth hour I will celebrate human achievements and turn all the lights on!  Cheers to Thomas Edison!

So long my friends,
Evalina

  1. It's about conservation, not a rejection of technology. I think you should read more about it.

  4. No matter what it is, whether it's conservation (as suggested) or a world without people.... You have brought something to my attention I knew nothing about!
I am not much for reading or watching the news, I don't read a news paper.... Ha ha I just stitch! So it's no wonder how I missed this!!

  5. I could not agree with you more. A world without heat, lights, and mostly no coffee maker!! No thanks!

  6. It is about conservation as all that stuff we enjoy is beginning to take it's toll on the Earth. Also, they're asking you to do it for one hour not a week.

  7. I love your take on the theme of earth hour. I missed it entirely, although I think I can count the hour I spent out walking yesterday toward a celebration of the earth.
