Happy International Women's Day!

All the best to all women around the world! Today is the day to celebrate goddess in each and everyone of you. So today do not fight for women's rights (we should do it every day of the whole year) do not join screaming feminists, but take time to enjoy life and pamper yourself, and your mother, and your sister, and your girlfriend and every other woman. You and her are goddesses!

Today is a very special day for me. I do celebrate women's day alright but also today is a 20 anniversary of my coming to North America.

I remember, just like yesterday, flying across Atlantic Ocean

and landing in New York...

And that was just a beginning of my long journey... journey of discovery and learning... journey full of dreams that isn't over yet.

In celebration of my 20th anniversary and International Women's Day I decide to give away a $20 gift certificate to your favorite on line store. To be eligible for the draw please leave a comment and tell me what kind of a goddess are you today? How did you pamper yourself or another woman? Please make sure to include your email address if your blog doesn't link back. The entries must be posted by midnight (PST) March 15th and the draw will be March 16th.

And the stitching update:

I didn't stitch a lot since this week I'm writing 2 final exams, but I did some.

Heart of the Valley, and

progress on virtual stitching that I joined last Saturday.

  1. Congrats on 20 years in North America! I love your work, especially Heart of the Valley--looks very lacy and delicate. How did pamper myself? I bought more charts of course!

  2. Love your Heart of the Valley! Just stunning! Happy Anniversary to you! Coming to America! To pamper myself last weekend I took over ownership of a LNS! I figured if I was never going to retire I'd rather be working where I love it!! Scared and excited! Thanks for the giveaway!!

  3. Heart of The Valley is beautiful, looks so delicate. Happy 20th anniversary to you. I pampered myself (as silly as it sounds) by actually doing the shopping on my own without the kids :-)) had a wonderful QUIET walk in the spring sunshine…heaven!

  4. What a JOURNEY you have made!! What a wonderful friend you have become to so many!!
I am only goddess of my own "Stitching Sanctuary" and, of course, I finally declared Max and Miprezious down for a full day's nap and I stitched, stitched and am going to stitch some more after Max makes gourmet, American, Cheddar and Swiss Grilled Cheese sandwiches!!
Love Ya and Hugs To Ya!!
    Deborah and Max
    and
    Miprezious, too!!

  5. Good luck with your exams, Evalina. I know you'll do great!

Nice stitching, even if it was only a little. :)

May I ask where you lived before coming to N.A.?

What did I do for my inner goddess? At lunch time, I took a nap. LOL Since I have a migraine right now, I'm going to just relax and lay on the sofa. Veg out, as they say....

Happy Int'l Women's Day to you!

  7. Congrats on your Anniversary! Your piece looks pretty even with not much stitching time. I pampered my daughter by taking her out to dinner with her 9mo old daughter. Her boyfriend is gone for awhile so she like having someone pay attention to her daughter besides her!

  8. Congrats on your 20 years and here's to the next 20 and then some. Goddess, hmmmm, well I was formally a domestic goddess and then entered the work world. My boss actually calls me his goddess and some of the older (service wise) members of the accounting department do as well. Sounds weird but apparently I am number 9 or 10 in his long road of Executive Assistants and we just click! I have been with him for over 10 years and approach my job from the premise that if my boss looks good, I look good. I don't need the spotlight......but I am his Administrative Goddess! I even have a mug from him that says so. lol PS Like your progress on your virtual stitch-a-long.

  9. Heart of the Valley is looking awesome. I really like how delicate this piece looks.

I didn't realize the significance of today. Unfortunately, Paul spent the day taking me to and from the hospital to have my foot fixed. I'll explain more on my blog later today, lol!

  10. Wow. What an inspired giveaway. I would love to be included.

As for pampering myself I do try to do something everyday. Even if it is only putting my feet up and stitching for a bit. So I guess that makes my Goddess Athena, Goddess of wisdom, crafts and Needlework.

And congrats on your 20th anniversary of coming to North America. From New York, to San Francisco to the Yukon. Sounds like you have covered most of it. :)

My favorite ONS is Down sunshine Lane.

    Thanks

Goddess huh...well, I feel like a goddess when I can just sit and stitch uninterrupted.

Your stitching looks great; love the white, lacy look of it.

Thanks for the giveaway; I'd love to win.
