New day, new week and a new finish!

Good morning every one!

It's a lovely crispy morning in the Yukon (1C or 34F) just before the sun rise. I'm sipping my first cup of coffee and want to share with you my lovely finish:

See, even back stitching is done! I stitched this piece on the lovely 32ct Country Mocha linen with DMC floss.

I was packing my cross stitch magazines and I came across October 2007 issue from Stoney Creek Cross Stitch Collection. A little pumpkins cut my attention - so here it is - a brand new start: Happy Fall Y'all!

Have a wonderful week everyone,
Evalina

It was a beautiful, stitchy day yesterday. I was working only on one project hoping to get it done - well, mission almost accomplished!

It's a Labour Day

The picture says it all. It makes me depressed so I'm having a stitching marathon today. I made a lot of progress on my 'Good Morning' and hopefully I can finish it today.  I love this cheerful design and colorful threads.

Good morning Saturday!

It's a lovely Saturday morning in the Yukon. The sky is blue, sun is shining, swans and Canadian geese are leaving the north honking loud. I love their sound, it makes me longing to fly with them....

Last Tuesday I realized how much we are dependent on technology. Out of the blue all my networks were down - no internet, no telephone, even my cell was down. I felt completely cut off from the whole world.  I was angry and helpless - thank goodness for relaxing hobby. I grabbed my cheerful 'Good Morning' and I think I was stitching somewhat faster that usual...

It looks like I'm half way done this project as there is a lot of back stitching. I also have been working on Ol Harvest Moon and this one is almost done. You can't imagine how happy I was after I finished the moon - it was the most boring part - thousands of tiny stitches all in the same colour. This piece I'm stitching on 25ct with one strand of floss (1 over 1). I'm planning to finish it as an ornament.

It is a long weekend and I hope I can have a lot of stitching done in the next couple of days!

Turtle Trot

Did anyone said that spring is near? Well, not here! That is what I woke up to this morning...

And I've completely forgot to post my Turtle Trot update. I'm a day late but here it is:

The poor 'Halloween House' was neglected for way too long. It started as a SAL with Linda of Stitching with my Furbabies  over a year ago. There is eleven of stitching same project and so far only one was finished so I still have a chance not to be a last one to finish it... It is back on Q-snaps and has a few more stitches in. From now on I will work on HH every Friday.

'Good Morning' got the writing done and from now on I will stitch this project only once a week on Thursdays

M. Quertier 1799 has another motif done and from now on I'm dedicating Sundays to Scarlet Letter projects.

Daylight savings

Gosh! Again I've lost an hour! This morning I woke up early and had so many plans for the morning - nope, none of them happen. I have no idea why we changing time on the north. There is no savings here... it's almost eight o'clock and still dark outside.... I guess it will be nice to have an extra hour of daylight in the evening, but our evenings are bright already and our days are getting 'longer' by six minutes every day - soon the darkness will be gone and sun will shine at midnight.

Couple of weeks ago I received floss in the mail and had no idea why did I order it. I look on these beautiful colors and couldn't figure out which projects they belong to. About ten days later I received the chart and the mystery was solved. A while ago while browsing Blogland I fell in love with lovely project design by Joan A. Elliot. I liked it so much that I ordered the chart and floss right away and forgot about it... To prevent further 'senior moments' I started to stitch immediately, here is the progress:

I know, I know - I promised not to have any new 'starts' before at least three projects are finished from my WIP pile - I just couldn't resist the cheerfulness of this design...
