Wow, I'm not the only one that's crazy! For this challenge I chose African Woman.
I saw this kit a very long time ago. It was pricey so it took me a while to splurge... The while was so long that it was unavailable anymore. I called Gita's and they say they will try to get it for me. It took exactly a year and that was 7 month ago.
I promised myself not to start anything big this year, finish what I started before and do 15 new little projects from my stash. Well, I opened the package...
finished the fabric edges, put on the scroll frame and the rest is a history
That's the beginning of the challenge. It should be done by December 31, 2012. The size of Lanarte's African Woman is 15.4"x19.3" (187 x 255 stitches).

Topaz
Last Saturday Freddy took Topaz to the vet for the checkup. Her ear is healing nicely but she has a lot of trouble with her collar. She still doesn't eat dog food but finally drinks her water. She has good appetite but only for people food...
In a week vet is removing stitches (if all goes well) and hopefully we can say goodbye to this huge, stiff collar.
So long my friends,
Evalina
Evalina you chose a great kit to stitch, and I´m happy Topaz is getting well...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laurita
Beautiful piece...that is going to be gorgeous!! Glad to hear Topaz is doing well and will soon be out of the "cone of shame" (have you seen the Pixar movie "UP"??)
ReplyDeleteaww poor Topaz! My mom's cat had to wear one last year and she wasn't very impressed with that haha. Glad she is healing well. One more week, Topaz!
ReplyDeleteThat kit is very pretty. I like the Lanarte girls, but yeah, the expense and the fact I am no good at staying focused on anything big is another are reasons I don't have any of them!
Evalina! That is one BAP! But she is gorgeous and I can't wait to see your progress.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Are you going to use guidelines?
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful piece. Your doing great and I know you will have it finished at the end of 2012.
ReplyDeleteTopaz is a pretty dog. I hope Topaz continues to heal and the collar comes off soon.
Yep, you are certifiable!! Should be lovely when finished though. Poor pup, what an awful collar. I'm sure both of you will be ready to get rid of it.
ReplyDeletewow it is a very lovely project..so beautiful..

ReplyDeleteFabulous project. If you have trouble with finding Lanarte projects, I'm always willing to look if they have them here! The sell Lanarte a lot in Belgium or the Netherlands. But as you do say, they're all so expensive :(
ReplyDeleteLove these beautiful, rich colors...no wonder you couldn't resist! Lovely design and nice start!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to love seeing this come to life, Evalina. :D
ReplyDeleteWow that is quite the project you've taken on but how beautiful it will look once you're done! I'm loving the colours.
ReplyDeleteAwwww poor Topaz, no doubt he can't wait until that collar is off too! I hope all heals well and he can soon be rid of it. xoxo
Lots of colors.
