I bet you would never expect to see him here, eh? But he is my hero as he helped ordinary Poles and East Europeans banish their fear of
Soviet Communism, convincing them that liberation was possible. There is much more to be said about this great man but I admire him for bringing hope to our hearts and, in a way, set us free from Soviets.
I have this lovely chart in my stash and I hope some day it will be stitched.
So long my friends,
Evalina
A true hero indeed!
ReplyDeleteQuite different from your other choices, but I'm glad you haven't narrowed your definition of heroism. And my chart arrived in today's mail. Thank you SO much and for those lovely little extras as well. You didn't have to do that. It's much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteGreat chart Evalina. I look forward to seeing you stitch it.

What a perfect choice!
ReplyDeleteA very interesting choice. He did seem to be a Pope for the people and less remote than many popes have been. He does seem to have been a genuinely good person.
ReplyDeleteWe had a graphic novel about his life that they handed out to us in school (I went to a Catholic school). It was a great story! :)
