Another day and another destination - Belize! A month ago or so I've met a friend who could not stop talking about Belize beauty. She just bought a property there and was so excited. Well, I had a look... and totally fell in love with that part of the world.
Perfectly located by the Caribbean Sea with a small population, English speaking - just a dream come true.
Plus I love to explore ancient sites and this area was populated by Mayans some 1000 years BC.
I just can imagine myself climbing these steps, sitting there, meditating and 'getting in touch' with people from the past.
Black orchid is the national flower of Belize, it flowers all year around! There are more than 300 native varieties of orchids in Belize, so I guess while I'm dreaming about visiting this part of the world I will stitch an orchid. I was trying to find a design with a black orchid, but no luck. Instead I will stitch the one that I have in my stash. It's called 'Oriental Orchids' and I can just use my imagination to replace 'oriental' with 'Belize'.
So long my friends,
Evalina
Belize sounds rather peaceful and spiritual. Love the orchids.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound nice and looks wonderfully warm unlike here where I woke up to snow, spring where are you?
ReplyDeleteHello Evalina I am just visiting followers of my blog - thankyou for being one of them. Your cross stick is beautiful - I love orchids and am amazed by the huge variety.

Ooo, that place looks incredible!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place! How fortunate for your friend to buy property there.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine myself running up the steps and posing like Rocky, but that's only because I'm a goofball. It does look absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOver visiting from the A to Z. What a place! Have heard of Belize but now want to visit. The black orchid is exquisite, as is your stitched orchid.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great place to visit! I'll bet the weather is quite perfect year 'round, too!
ReplyDeleteWell now I have to go to Belize! My parents went two years ago and loved it. *Add to my Bucket List* Great post and I'm looking forward to the rest of your destinations!

ReplyDeleteI love orchids but have never owned one. I'm intimidated by them and honestly, I'm afraid my cats would try and eat them - they eat all the other plants I've ever tried to keep! I love the stitch design!
ReplyDeleteThis month is going to be so much fun to read your blog everyday! Thanks for the beautiful pictures and it's great that you find a cross stitch design for each day also!
ReplyDeleteI have been to all of Central America except Belize. For some reason it doesn't call my name. But the black orchids are beautiful. I might have to go just to see them. Love your orchid stitchery.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'd like to visit some day.
