Rio is a wonderful city! A lot of poverty, to be sure, but it was the second "foreign" city I visited while onboard ship (the first was Salvador, Brazil. A dump.). Truly breathtaking.
Looks beautiful. I've not spent much time on "beach" vacations, but was in Puerto Rico a few weeks ago on business and found out how much I missed being near an ocean (now that I live in Arizona).
Hope you get to see the 'Christ The Redeemer' statue up close! My daughter lived in Brazil for six months, working with street-kids in the favelas - her team had a short break in Rio and saw New Year in on Ipanema beach; quite a difference! Enjoy your trip - take lots of pics to share with us! :-)
Be safe, have fun! Take lots of pictures?
ReplyDeleteMy brother has gone and loved it. Lucky him gets to travel for his job! Have a wonderful time. Writer’s Mark

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite views in the world, and I've never even been to Brazil. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAre you really visiting there next? How long are you staying in Rio for?
Thank you for stopping my blog and commenting. I am so glad you did. Rio de Janeiro is definitely on my bucket list!

And don't forget the great ghettos built on garbage dumps...
