I think is not too late, I can take that road trip, just instead of going north I will go south. I will stop to see some familiar places:
have a cup of tea in Golden Gate Park
Golden Gate Bridge
stop for a glass of wine in Napa Valley
go for a swim in Half Moon Bay
visit Rosicrucian Park in San Jose
I have never been to San Diego and I heard that it is a very beautiful city.
And if I'm that far south already maybe I will just keep going straight to Belize (see my previous post).
And what I'll be stitching? I have in my stash a very nice sampler by Ginger and Spice:
So long my friends,
Evalina
I was actually born and raised in San Francisco, and your images bring a refreshing perspective to familiar things I've seen all around me while I was growing up. I haven't gone for a swim at Half Moon Bay yet...maybe someday!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful there :)
ReplyDeleteThere are great places to see that we always seem to miss. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia is Beautiful! We were in Santa Rosa last summer for a wedding and to visit family. What a beautiful area!
ReplyDeleteThat Napa Valley horizon looks so soothing! One day I'll hit that coast...
ReplyDelete"Instead I flu" has to be one of the funniest typos I've read in a while, thanks to my actually having been violently ill these last 48 hours! It does feel like a verb sometimes.
Lovely photos. I've never been to the west coast, but it looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love your sampler that you will be stitching. I can't wait to see your progress.
Safe travels and please take lots of photos...and don't forget to hit every Needlework shop on the way, too.
Blessings always
I've never been to California. Thanks for sharing the pictures, it looks so lovely.

I haven't been to California in thirty odd years. Your pictures are familiar, thanks!

ReplyDeleteCanada is beautiful, but California does have a magic all it's own. I love that you included Half Moon Bay. So beautiful. My favorite beach is Greyhound Rock, just a bit south of Half Moon Bay. I miss California, too!
ReplyDeleteThat garden looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. I can't wait to read about all the different places.
ReplyDeleteOh, I also love California! I've visited a few times -- San Francisco, LA, San Luis Obispo, San Simeon, the wine country.... It's all beautiful! Happy A-to-Z 2013! ~Angela, Whole Foods Living
ReplyDeleteIf you go visit those places (except San Diego) your only a few hours from my house. Oh my, I'm pretty sure I have that chart in my stash.

OMG!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place.
Lovely pictures
Yes, eye capturing ones
Keep it up
Keep Going

I went to San Diego in January when it was 18 degrees back home in St. Louis. It was 75 degrees and sunny in Southern Cal. Just heaven.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little (6 yrs old), I was disappointed when we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, as I thought it was supposed to be made of gold.
I have never been to California, but would love it, one of these years. I would like to drive the west coast along the shore line. I am sure it would take me forever because I would have to stop and take pictures along. Golden Gate would be something to see also! Such a pretty sampler I love crossstitch!
ReplyDeleteuntil next time...nel
Canada is my favourite place in this world, but California is very beautiful too. Interesting stitch design!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am purposely staying away from California because every time I have visited, I have had a horrible experience. Last time, I almost died. I figure another visit might finish me off completely.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia is incredibly beautiful and so diverse. I did a bike trip along the coast starting at the Oregon border and ending at San Jose. It was spectacular and the best holiday I've ever been on.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how you hit a number of my FAVORITE places!! Do you know how gorgeous the Tea Garden would be right now, if the cherries are blossoming?!
ReplyDeleteHi Evalina, I just caught up reading all your A-Z blog posts! I lived in California all my life, but never saw any of those places except San Diego. I'm down here in the Southern part by Los Angeles and Hollywood and the mountains and desert. There is always something to do!
