My first HAED

It is official, I just started my first project from HAED (Heaven and Earth Designs), "Ships and shells". It is a small design, they call it "quick stitch"...19,250 stitches and 106 colors, all squeezed into 7" by 4 3/8". But it will look lovely when done:

as of now it doesn't look like anything yet:

From my heart

Thank you so much for all condolences, hugs and prayers. It is a true blessing to have so many friends in a difficult time of sorrow and so many shoulders to cry on.

Today I finished "Stitch or Die" and since so many of you shared the picture of the back I got brave enough to show mine...

Here is the front

and the back.

To my Father

Life is a journey.
Death is the continuation of the journey.
Heaven is a temporary rest
For the commencement and fulfillment
Of a new life, a new hope
And a new promise

Sri Chinmoy

No matter where you are, your death will not part us. I will always love you and you will always be in my heart.

Stitch or die is almost finished...

I made a nice progress on Stitch or Die... On Saturday it looked like that:

I didn't like the look of a skull so I kept stitching and eventually it start looking more colorful and "pleasant":

It looks like I will have another finish before January ends! I'm thinking that this piece will make a nice cover for my binder with cross stitch charts or a cute addition to my Stitching Corner...

My first anniversary

Last year in February I created this blog and to celebrate my 1st anniversary I'm planning to have a giveaway. I would like to know what prize my readers would like so I created a poll (on the right) and I would love if you vote for the item that is most appealing to you.

Thank you for your votes and comments, they are really appreciated.

Stitching with Mel

Once more me and Mel did the cyber stitching together. I finished Almost Perfect and started Stitch or Die.

My new start was Mel's suggestion. She didn't have to twist my arm though. I sew this project on Kelly's site and thought that it is so funny and deserved to be stitched by me. I'm stitching it on 28ct cashel linen "Golden Wings" from Silkweaver using regular and variegated DMC floss.

Enablig points for Kelly

I was visiting Kelly's blog today because I was very curious about her Summer Dragon update. While there I decided to check what she was up to in 2009. She was one busy bee, let me tell you! She has done so many nice pieces but one of them almost made me jump in the chair:

Yep, that's the one! I checked all my favorite on-line stores... nope, not there. I was almost ready to write to her... last search... hm... that one brought me to Creative Poppy... and... BINGO! I found it! And there was a trick... For the first time buyers they had a 4 bucks discount but I would have to spend just 50 cents more to qualify. The hunt for the next perfect pattern began. Didn't took me that long, an hour later I found it and here it is:

So, thanks to Kelly and her blog I end up with two great charts (downloadable and printable, you know - instant delivery) and a couple of hours of shopping enjoyment. All this for the mere $13. Thank you Kelly, you've made my day!

Almost Perfect almost done

Christmas and New Year celebrations are behind and I'm back to work. I didn't make any promises to myself this year but I created a list of projects that I would like to stitch this year. The list is on the right sidebar.

Inspired by Meari, I changed the layout of my blog a little and added an extra column on the left. How do you like it?

I'm very pleased with my little angels progress and I think that today I will finish this project. A long time ago I saw this cutest little angels in someones finishes, fell in love with it an of course I had to have it. Back stitching is really bringing them to life, don't you think so?

SAL with Terri

Today I joined Terri's Virtual Stitching SAL. I was planning to stitch John Paul II by Sandi Orton but I changed my mind and I was working on my latest WIP "Almost Perfect" from Sunset Designs. In the morning it looked like that:

and after 6 hours of stitching it changed to:
