A to Z challenge: E

When I look on the globe from yesterday post I see that my next stop should be Egypt. Those who followed my posts from last year A to Z challenge know all about my passion for the ancient sites. I have never been to Egypt but I'm planning that trip for the last 7 years or so...

Of course I would love to see the pyramids,
  and sail the Nile,
and try some of the Egyptian cuisine, and much more...

While preparing for the trip I'm reading and trying recipes from

For the stitching part I will work on Egyptian Sampler by TW

I've started this piece a year ago and completely forgot about it. Here is my progress so far

A to Z challenge: D

Damascus, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world,  is my next destination. The city of jasmine that never sleeps. Damascus is a living museum spanning thousands of years. A city measuring time not by hours, days, months, and years but by empires it has seen rise and crumble to ruin.

As for the stitching part - I have no idea what to stitch while thinking about this trip. Any suggestions?

A to Z challenge: C

I always wanted to go to Canary Islands but a while ago I was watching a program about these Islands and I do not want to go there anymore... so what is my next destination? California! I know, I've been there, I lived there, I lost my heart there... While living in California I was planning a road trip to Canada. It never happened. Instead I flew, put my belongings on cargo and a few hours later I was welcomed on the Canadian soil. Since then I have never left Canada.

I think is not too late, I can take that road trip, just instead of going north I will go south.  I will stop to see some familiar places:

have a cup of tea in Golden Gate Park
 Golden Gate Bridge
stop for a glass of wine in Napa Valley
go for a swim in Half Moon Bay
visit Rosicrucian Park in San Jose
I have never been to San Diego and I heard that it is a very beautiful city.

And if I'm that far south already maybe I will just keep going straight to Belize (see my previous post).

And what I'll be stitching? I have in my stash a very nice sampler by Ginger and Spice:

A to Z challenge: B

Another day and another destination - Belize! A month ago or so I've met a friend who could not stop talking about Belize beauty. She just bought a property there and was so excited. Well, I had a look... and totally fell in love with that part of the world.
Perfectly located by the Caribbean Sea with a small population, English speaking - just a dream come true.

Plus I love to explore ancient sites and this area was populated by Mayans some 1000 years BC.
I just can imagine myself climbing these steps, sitting there, meditating and 'getting in touch' with people from the past.

Black orchid is the national flower of Belize, it flowers all year around! There are more than 300 native varieties of orchids in Belize, so I guess while I'm dreaming about visiting this part of the world I will stitch an orchid. I was trying to find a design with a black orchid, but no luck. Instead I will stitch the one that I have in my stash. It's called 'Oriental Orchids' and I can just use my imagination to replace 'oriental' with 'Belize'.

A to Z challenge: A

Another year and another A to Z challenge. Last year my theme was ancient Egypt this year I'm taking you to places that I would love to visit.

During my blogging years I've met many beautiful Aussies and I would love to visit Australia sometimes during our winter. It would be so much fun to experience Australian Christmas

along with longest days, sun and sandy beaches. My part of the world would be covered with cold and darkness while I would enjoy cold beer and some BBQ.

I also found a lovely cross stitch chart  'Australia' - from coast to coast, from koalas to kangaroos  - it is going on my wish list!

Is there anything I should know before visiting the marvelous land of Oz?
