Irish luck - or maybe not...

It was not fun! My email have disappeared from one of my accounts... I stared into the screen and could not believe my eyes. My hands and forehead were covered with a cold sweat, the whole body was trembling. Emails were there a night before, in the morning all were gone... Somewhere I read that a dying person sees the whole life like a movie in their heads, well in my head all the memories of previous computer crashes were popping up. Without further delay I drove to Staples and bought a new backup system. Ha! Now I'm safe.  And fortunately for me my email is back. My host was moving all my domains into a new server and by mistake deleted one of my accounts. He had a backup so a few hours later all was up and running.

Next morning - another surprise... my TV has died! Just like that, no symptoms just a little smell of burning wires and then, it was gone. And what Evalina does? Sure, goes shopping to buy a new TV. After all I'm not so sure about that Irish luck... on other hand now I have a great backup system and a new TV! And I managed to stitch a little. I had to start something new and Friday's mail brought a chart titled Let's sew.  When I spotted that chart it was a love of first sight, I had to have it. It was on the back order for some time, I even forgot about it - now it is all mine! Here is the progress:

So long friends,
Evalina

  6. That's a great start! I hate it when you feel like you have lost something on a computer, the stomach lurching and the memory working overtime to try and remember everything - I am so glad that it wasn't lost for good. Enjoy your new TV.

  11. Oh my...I accidentally deleted my whole inbox once. It was terrifying but also a little freeing, LOL! Glad you were able to get it all back. I love the piece you're stitching; it's looking great!

  13. OH! I so want that chart, too! Your needle has been smoking on it. Nice progress.

What did you get for your backup system? I would think that'd be weird to lose all your emails and then have them back, lol. And your TV went, too? You poor girl. I think my laptop took a crap on me last night. I went to plug in the S-video cable so I could watch Once Upon A Time (Hulu) on my TV via PC. The laptop went dead and now won't even power up. It's about 5 yrs old and the BF says I've gotten my use out of it. I started having probs with it while I was finishing up school. Soooo... I may be going laptop shopping!

  14. I'm glad your Irish luck was working, email wasn't actually lost was just giving you a little motivation to get a backup system, you were financially able to replace the TV with a better one. We must be kindred spirits or something I recently purchased that very chart at my LNS and am itching to start it. It looks to be a quick stitch so I'll watch yours first.

  16. I'm glad your problems turned out to be fixable, but that first stomach wrenching moment is terrible.

That is a gorgeous new chart and you've made excellent progress. Looking forward to seeing more of it.
