It's Saturday!

Blue sky, sunshine, birds are signing - the spring finally came to the north. The lakes are still frozen, there are no green leaves yet and the grass is just starting to show here and there. In the shadow I can still find small patches of snow...

Every year it amazes me how quickly everything grows under the midnight sun. I can notice the difference with my naked eye just by looking at plants in the morning and later at the same plants in the afternoon.

The weather forecast isn't so great for today (see my local weather), looks like my beautiful sunshine will disappear soon. On the bright side, that's good - I can study for the finals and maybe stitch a little without distraction.

So long my friends,
Evalina

  1. Pretty flowers, Evalina. And hey, at least you got some sunshine. I usually like rainy days cause it means I don't have to water, lol.

  2. Very colorful flowers! It is good to see a bit of a touch of spring, even if it is just for a day or two :)

Sounds like you have a good back up plan too if the day turns out to be a bit cooler and you need to stay inside :)

    enjoy the weekend

  3. We have a few wildflowers blooming here on a small hill next to our house in Colorado. But the wildflower seeds I planted never bloom. But finding these small treasures, the ones that nature planted is a delight. I am still amazed by the patience it must take to stitch your paintings.

  4. Nature is amazing. I like that she makes up for a long, cold winter with swiftly growing spring plants! :)

  10. Your weather looks very similar to what we had in Iceland. Although not as warm.
Still, it's Saturday. And, in my book, that spells glorious. Rain or shine.
Where in Connecticut did you live?

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Too bad I did not find you in April, ancient Egypt sounds fascinating.

  23. Hi Evalina! Wow, you really made the most of the challenge getting all of the books. I see that you're on Goodreads! I LOVE it! I'll send you a friend request on there and we can keep up. Cross stitch is so amazing to me. My sister used to do it a lot as well as my niece. My sister's eyesight now makes it hard for her to do it. But I have some beautiful pieces she's done for me over the years. Glad I found you! (Or you found me!)

So great to meet you! :)

  29. Thanks for commenting on so many of my posts. I miss the English weather sometimes (so cosy to snuggle in front of a crackling fire when it's raining outside) but I must admit to loving the California sunshine. We even swam in our pool on Saturday - in May! Love it :)

That's a beautiful photo, even if there's still snow. Temps are in the upper 70's here right now, with the sun shining brightly.
