Super Moon, Super WIPocalypse

Finally I was able to see the super moon. Last 2 months I had no luck, it rained and I could see nothing. Tonight is perfectly clear sky. I went to the lake, on the east the moon was rising and on the west the sun was setting. I even spotted a beaver!

And, as promised earlier (or maybe the promise I made on Linda's blog) last Saturday I pulled out neglected Halloween House and stitched in Debbie's memory. Long time ago we started this as a SAL.... this is where I left it off:

During my typing it got dark outside and the moon shines beautifully

Snow, Frosty and the Rabbit Run

It is snowing today! Yesterday was such a beautiful day, I noticed that finally the ice is melting and I was able to see a bit of open water on the lake. Even Frosty Girl stopped for a moment and smiled to the camera.

Last week and during the weekend I was working on Rabbit Run exclusively and I'm so proud of my progress (sorry for the crappy picture, but you will get the idea)

If I can work at this pace, I 'm pretty sure I can finish it just in time for Easter.

Stitchy weekend

It was a long weekend and a stitchy one! I was working on Halloween House - it's a very slow going but going

and I finished part one of 'Positive Thinking' SAL

and I even made a few stitches on 'Songs of the Season'

Some of you were asking about my Frosty Girl, here is her little video taken just a few days ago (November 6th)

Chasing the wind

It is a cold and windy day in Marsh Lake. Regardless the weather I had to take my puppy for a walk. Here is our first video taken on our back yard. With a little more practice I will get better, I promise.

Now puppy will take a nap and I will try to warm up with a cup of tea and maybe some stitching. Today I'm working on a piece for charity, a square for a quilt for a little boy who likes wild animals. I'm using Prairie Schooler ornament pattern but instead on linen I'm stitching it on 14 ct Aida. It's almost done, I just have to fill in lion's face and the lamb.

My puppy is home!

It has been a long time since I went to Ontario. Well, I went there couple of years ago for a seminar but I do not count that visit. I was picked up at the airport, dropped off at the hotel, did not visit any friends or places. It was strictly business related. This time it was a whole different story. I went there to pick up a puppy! My Topaz (background picture) is 10 years old, she behaves very well and I thought that she could train the puppy.

Twenty years ago, after coming from the Bay Area, Toronto seemed a small city with small highways. It was dark and cold... This time I went there straight from Yukon and what a difference! The city seemed huge, the highways awful big, busy  and fast - for a moment I felt lost and a little overwhelmed... I rented a car right at the airport and my first stop was at Woodstock, next Huron Kennels in Goderich. And here she was, my little Frosty Girl ( in the background are mom and dad).

Frosty Girl absolutely loves that snow, too bad that it will be gone in a day or two...

I am amazed how quickly she learns, she is only nine weeks old. After a day of playing and training she is house broken, doesn't jump on the couch and people. I am so proud of her!

During flights and while waiting for connecting flights I was able to finish May ornament by Prairie Schooler and start on another one! Here is the progress:

A to Z challenge: G, H, I, J, K

Oh, my lord! I've been lost in taxes, debits and credits - my life has stopped for a while.  I have quite a few letters to go through... lets get started:

G for Goderich, a lovely town in Ontario by an awesome Lake Huron.

Actually I'm going there in a couple of weeks to pick up a new puppy! Stay tuned for more pics after my return.

Here is mommy, daddy and puppies. One of them will be mine! 

H is for Hawaii. I would love to hike there and see an active volcano

I must be for Ireland on St. Patrick day (or any other day really). The castles, the green and the beer- should I say more?

J for Jamaica. Good food, great music, warm and fun!

 

K for Kelowna. A lovely city located in British Columbia, Canada.
